COPPRON (Copper Modify Acrylic Fiber) is a kind of acrylic fiber with high hygroscopicity which contains cupric ions (4%).
The Anti-Bacterial Mechanism of COPPRON Fiber
In the process of protoplasmic polymerization, cupric chain and hydrophilic group were grafted in the acrylic macro-molecular side chain by using graft co-polymerization technique. Then through wet spinning, it will be formed a new kind of acrylic fiber—COPPRON.
When trace amount of copper ions with positive charge touched the microorganism cytomembrane with negative charge, metal ions were through cytomembrace under coulombian force. After going into the bacteria, the copper ions reacted with the mercapto-amino of bacterial protein to destroy the protein activity leading to the death or losing multiplication capacity.
The Deodorant Mechanism of COPPRON Fiber
So far, there are mainly two target odors in textile industry: one is from the metabolism of bacteria and fungus, the other one is body odor such as ammonia, acetic acid and isovaleria acid. COPPRON can effectively remove both of the odor by its highly anti-bacterial function and neutralization of hydrophilic group. However, normally in the market, the deodorant function is refer to the first condition.
